Rock Prairie Dairy — located in the Town of Bradford in Rock County, Wis.— continues a long tradition of Tuls family owned and operated dairy farms. Rock Prairie Dairy manager T.J. Tuls is a 4th generation farmer who learned about caring for cows and the land from his father. He grew up living and working on the family’s two Nebraska Dairies — Double Dutch and Butler County Dairies. Today T.J. uses that lifetime of experience to manage the Rock Prairie Dairy.
Rock Prairie Dairy’s 4,600 cows produce approximately 50,000 gallons of quality milk each day that is shipped to Dean Foods and Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) — a dairy cooperative. Healthy, contented cows produce quality milk and Rock Prairie’s cows comfortably live in specially designed free stall tunnel barns that maximize natural light and maintain optimal temperatures. Rock Prairie is more than committed to its cows and the production of healthy milk; it is committed to the community. Each year Rock Prairie spends more than $18 million in operational costs. Much of that money goes to local businesses, animal nutrition suppliers, contractors and farmers. Rock Prairie contributes to the tax base of the Town of Bradford and Rock County. Its 50 employees live in the area. They help support the local economy and contribute to a vibrant community.
